ABS plastic is A terpolymer of acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B), and styrene (S). Its molecular formula can be written as (C8H8·C4H6·C3H3N)x, and the relative content of the three monomers can vary arbitrarily to produce various resins. ABS plastic combines the common properties of the three components. It has excellent mechanical and thermal properties, with an elastic modulus of 2.2GPa. Its performance remains stable within the range of -40 to 100℃. A makes it resistant to chemical corrosion and heat, and gives it a certain surface hardness. B endows it with high elasticity and toughness. S gives it the processing and molding characteristics of thermoplastic plastics and improves its electrical properties. Therefore, ABS plastic is a kind of "tough, hard and rigid" material with readily available raw materials, good comprehensive performance, low price and wide application. ABS plastic has been widely applied in manufacturing industries such as machinery, electrical appliances, textiles, automobiles, aircraft, ships, as well as in the chemical industry.
