PA66 is the variety with the highest mechanical strength and the widest application in the PA series. Due to its high crystallinity, it has relatively high rigidity and heat resistance. Unmodified nylon has poor flame retardant performance. Its vertical burning can only reach UL94 V-2 level, with an oxygen index of about 24. Moreover, it drips during combustion and is a flammable material. It is highly likely to cause fires during use. Especially in the field of electronic products, there have been countless fires caused by nylon, resulting in significant losses. Therefore, the flame retardant modification of nylon has become a topic of common concern and research in both the academic and industrial communities today.

Advantages:

1.High flame retardancy: By adding flame retardants (such as brominated, phosphorus-based or halogen-free flame retardants), it can meet the UL94 V-0 standard, effectively reducing the risk of fire, and is suitable for fields with strict fire protection requirements.

2. High-temperature resistance: It retains the original high-temperature stability of PA66 (melting point approximately 260℃), and can maintain structural strength in high-temperature environments, making it suitable for electronic and electrical appliances as well as peripheral components of automotive engines.

3. Excellent mechanical strength: After flame-retardant modification, it still retains high rigidity, impact resistance and wear resistance, making it suitable for manufacturing parts subject to mechanical stress (such as gears, casings, etc.).

4. Electrical insulation: The combination of excellent electrical insulation performance and flame retardancy makes it safer in electronic and electrical applications such as high-voltage electrical appliances and terminal blocks.


Application:

1.Electronic and electrical industry: It is used to manufacture high-voltage connectors, circuit breakers, relays and other electronic components with strict flame retardant safety requirements, meeting fire protection standards such as UL94 V-0.

2. Automotive parts: Applied to battery casings of new energy vehicles, components of charging piles, and high-temperature resistant parts around engines, it takes into account both lightweight and fire safety.

3. Household appliances and smart devices: Commonly found in high-power household appliances (such as thebases of rice cookers and components of coffee machines) and the shells of smart home devices, to prevent fire risks caused by overheating.

4. Rail transit and aviation: It is used for aircraft interior parts, high-speed rail seat frames, etc., and complies with strict industry standards for flame retardancy, low smoke, and non-toxicity (such as EN45545).
